Workshops

The following educational programs are offered for members to develop their skills in photography and image processing.  Most courses are taught by volunteer club members who give their time and talents freely. They prepare for their instruction periods so that you may benefit from them. Some classes are presented in a sequence of parts. To gain the maximum benefit from the instruction, workshop participants should make an effort to follow through and attend each class session as it is scheduled.

This season we ask that you register for workshops you plan to attend. This will allow instructors to adequately prepare workshop materials and available workshop space. PLEASE NOTE: Workshops will be available for registration on the first day of the month preceding the scheduled event date. Prior to the registration opening date, a note in the left hand margin will have the message "Registration is Closed". It does not mean that the event is "Full".

To register you will need to be logged into the Grand Photos membership site and then scroll to the class and click on the register button below the workshop title.  Most workshops are free; when there is a fee as part of the registration process, you may pay online using PayPal or a credit card, or you may print out the invoice and take a copy of the invoice along with your payment to the studio and leave it with the monitor.

Bruce Taubert and his friend Randy from the AZFGD will bring a variety of different species of rattlesnakes, Gila Monsters, and scorpions to White Tank Regional Park where they will position them in a natural setting with instructions on how to safely get some great pictures you are unlikely to find otherwise. This is an introductory class on using Elements Adobe Camera Raw. The Raw Converter can be used with JPEGs or RAW files. Learn what RAW files are all about and how to use them. We will use the Raw Converter in Elements 18, but the handout came from Elements 11. They are very similar. If you have older versions of Elements, this class will still be useful. Raw files will give you greater latitude to be creative in processing your images. In many ways the Raw Converter is easier to use than the Editor in Elements. In fact some of it is a easy as pushing one button to get great results. There is one attachment for this class. Please print this out and bring it with you.
